A local dance school, Msida Dance Centre, will be taking part in the International Culture and Arts Festival in Tianjin, China, from 29 July to 2 August.

A group of 16 dancers under the guidance of the school’s principal and choreographer, Kim Spiteri, will be presenting a modern and hip hop dance programme. The Maltese dancers have been rehearsing and preparing for this China tour for the last two months.

The Tianjin Festival has worldwide participation with top dance companies taking part.

Before going on to Tianjin, the dance group has been invited to visit Hong Kong, Guangdong and Beijing where they will perform in local events.

The dancers will also have the opportunity to see some of the best cultural spots in the world, especially in Beijing, where they will be visiting the Great Wall of China, Summer Palace, Forbidden City and other attractions.

Msida Dance Centre has organised this trip to China with the cooperation and assistance of the Malta – China Friendship Society.
