The Employment and Training Corporation (ETC) has published a manual to serve as a guide on gender sensitivity at the workplace. The manual, Making Work Better for Organisations and for Employees, has been developed specifically for employers and HR managers who want to develop a productive and inclusive workplace.
The manual offers readers a number of checklists on the staff selection process, staff career development, conditions of work, childcare services and sexual harassment. These checklists should serve as a guide to good working practices which should be applied in today’s labour market.
The manual also offers information on the relevant legislation on gender equality and it provides a sample of an equal opportunities policy and a sample policy on sexual harassment for organisations to adopt.
Individuals and organisations interested in obtaining copies of this manual should contact the Gender Equality Unit of the corporation on 2220-1122/4 or at [email protected].
