The Journalists’ Committee has condemned the manner in which a journalist with Super
The Committee said that the minister, who threatened to have the journalist arrested, had gone against a decision taken by the Public Accounts Committee to allow photographers and cameramen to film or take photos of the first part of the session.
The Journalists’ Committee called on the Speaker of the House and the Committee’s chairman to ensure that journalists are allowed to work without hindrance.
In a separate statement, the board of directors of Super One condemned Dr Gatt for trying to stop one of its journalists from doing his duty.
Super One said the journalist had permission to film the first part of the proceedings. However, Dr Gatt ordered the journalist to stop filming, otherwise he would have called the police.
