Court: Conditionally Discharged for using false number plates

A man was conditionally discharged for two years and had his driving licence suspended for a year after he was found guilty of attaching false number plates to his Fiat Ritmo. 35-year-old Antoine Abela, from Gzira, was found guilty of using false number plates on his car and relapsing. He was also found guilty of driving a car without a driving licence and without insurance cover on 13 June this year and the previous months. Magistrate Abigail Lofaro heard Abela plead guilty to the charges brought against him. He was fined Lm500, had his driving licence suspended for a year and was discharged on condition that he does not commit another crime within two years. Police inspector Paul Vassallo prosecuted.
