From Mr C. Morabito
Dear President Fenech Adami,
How can a person in your position watch the carnage in Palestine, Iraq, Chechnya, Afghanistan, and now Lebanon, and not see it for what it is: the criminally powerful waging wars of imperialist and colonialist aggression against weaker nations in order to steal their resources and commit genocide against their people? Is this something so unrecognisable to you as a Maltese national whose country’s history is one long foreign occupation after another, whose people fought so valiantly against the very same aggression during World War II and at other points in our long history for independence and freedom?
Dear President, can you not foresee the dangers that lie ahead for this great and truly free Republic of Malta, which is no less a strategic military asset today than it has been throughout its long history? I implore you to do something now to stop these illegal aggressions if only to prevent Malta from becoming a launching pad for Anglo-North American genocide in the Middle East in the near future, which is inching closer and closer toward these islands.
Simple common sense will tell you that millions, perhaps even billions of people all over the world do see these aggressive and genocidal actions for what they are, so there is no way a person with your knowledge and experience cannot recognise them also. So what is stopping you from taking action to stop them when you enjoy such a privileged position of power to organise genuine opposition?
All the honest, peaceful people of the world have always been able to see through the slick lies of aggressors’ propaganda that their criminal actions are carried out in self-defence. This lie is centuries old and it is no less absurd today than it was when the Nazis used it to invade Poland, or the Americans to invade Vietnam, or the Russians to invade Chechnya – to name just three modern examples.
All the honest, law-abiding people of the world are crying out for leaders of honour and integrity who uphold the rule of law for the sake of future generations. All that is needed is for one person with power to stand up and speak the truth and he or she will find countless other people, countless other law-abiding nations gather in support and all these aggressions and cruel actions can be stopped in a matter of days.
Why can the person to do this not be you, President Fenech-Adami, an affluent European? Please, tell me, why can it not be you? You and Malta are in the best of positions imaginable to be a voice for truth in a world sinking into a quicksand of violence and genocide.
I implore you, sir, on behalf of the people of Iraq, Palestine, Afghanistan, Chechnya, Lebanon, the indigenous peoples of the Americas, and all colonised peoples everywhere, to use every bit of your power to organise the law-abiding nations of the world to stand up against the criminal aggression of the United States, Israel, Canada, Russia, the United Kingdom, France, and invoke the Nuremberg Principles, the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide, the Geneva Convention, and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, to demand an immediate end to the barbarism these nations are spreading across the globe in the hope of igniting even worse conflict, racism, and hatred, from which they will profit with their billion-dollar weapons and media industries, as well as their theft of national resources.
I beg President Fenech-Adami to answer this question: Why can you not be the one to take the world off the current course of genocide and illegal aggression?
Chris Morabito
