The police are holding a man in custody after he was caught in possession of a balaclava and two plastic pistols.

In a statement, the police said it was informed that in Guze Pace Street in Hamrun there were two men who were behaving suspiciously. The police went on site and as soon as they arrived, one of the men took off. He was chased and was apprehended soon after.

During inspections later on, the police found a balaclava and two plastic pistols hidden underneath a parked car.

The man was held in custody while the police continue their investigations.
