An Mqabba man was fined Lm5,000 yesterday for the involuntary homicide of an unlicensed fireworks enthusiast caused by an explosion in 2003.
Benjamin Agius, 56, was found guilty of allowing fireworks to be produced in an unlicensed building in Ta’ Kandja on 23 April 2003. This building exploded, claiming the life of 53-year-old Godwin Debono from Birkirkara.
The court, presided over by magistrate Antonio Micallef Trigona, found the accused guilty and fined him Lm5,000.
