The Malta Labour Party expressed satisfaction yesterday at the government’s agreement to an MLP proposal to issue
special visas to students who attend courses in Malta.
MLP spokesman Carmelo Abela said that the MLP had long been pushing for such visas in an effort to attract more students to Malta, instead of losing out on those who go to other destinations.
Government had dragged its feet on the issue, the MLP said, and had lost out on many arrivals. Mr Abela said that the government should try to attract more students to Malta, especially those who are not from the European Union.
