A pre-season referees’ seminar will be held at the Centenary Hall, Ta’ Qali this week between today and Saturday 5 August.

This annual event, organised by the MFA Referees Board under the auspices of UEFA, will this year be conducted by Keith Hackett, a UEFA Referees Instructor.

The subjects covered in the seminar will be:

1. Amendments to the Laws of the Game 2006

2. Match Control – Management of the Free-kick

3. Determining Offside

4. Pre-match Talk

5. Reading the Game – Positioning

6. Relationship: Referees/Coaches

MFA President Dr Joe Mifsud will open the seminar with an address to the participants at the Conference Hall of the Ta’ Qali Technical Centre today at 6pm, followed by an introduction by Tom A. Restall, Head, Referees Department of the MFA. At the end of the seminar the MFRA will be presenting the new Referees’ Kit.
