With reference to the article by Noel Grima entitled “Pro-church discrimination feared in coming changes at the Law Courts”, please note for the record that my appointment as a judge of the superior courts was not withdrawn. The Prime Minister urged me repeatedly to accept the appointment. The President at the time confirmed to me, at a meeting at San Anton, that he had appointed me as a judge on the advice of the Prime Minister. It was my decision not to take up the appointment.
