From Mr L. Bartoli
It is amazing what Air Malta or its overseas representative can do to us, its Maltese customers, to make us feel like second class citizens.
We were part of a group on a tour of Belgium and Holland organised by one of Malta’s leading tour operators, and the group was the first to check-in to return to Malta, on Monday 31 July on flight KM421.
On being handed the boarding cards we noticed that all couples and families were given separate seats in different rows. Every one of us protested at this, but according to the check-in clerk this arrangement came from Air Malta.
On boarding the aircraft we could notice that all foreign couples, who checked-in after us, were seated next to each other. This is pure discrimination against us, Maltese citizens.
It is not the first time that we have been treated this way. A couple of years back we were also part of another group returning from Geneva, and on that occasion we were also given separate seats. At the time I thought it must have been some oversight, but when the same thing happened again last Monday, it must now be intentional.
When I next fly on my own, I know which airline I shall not be flying with.
Louis J. Bartoli
