Week four of the Middlesea Valletta Life National League has been completed at the Eden SuperBowl, with defending champions Aercomms extending their lead to four points, after destroying an inadequate Right Deal side in a trouble free 8-0 victory, rolling the best team total of the week to boot.
Fina First advance to second in spite of dropping two points in their win against Redwell Heating, while Sagio Investments slip to third after a 6-2 beating at the hands of Ramis. Both Royal Shock and Sammy’s Embroideries scooped handy full point victories against La Spigola and Faces respectively, and there was another majority win for HSBC against Vintage, 2-6 the score line.
Last season’s champs, Aercomms were in awesome form in their clash with Right Deal, ripping into their opponents from the opening frame. Aercomms were in total control, easily winning game one 859-744, and then made it 4-0 with an 812-735 result in game two.
Their best was yet to come as Aercomms ended the annihilation with a huge 899 to Right Deal’s 761 to grab all eight points, and register the highest team series of the season to date, 2,570 pins. Kenneth Arpa (Aercomms), 695. Danial Swift (Right Deal), 633.
Fina First occupy the second spot after their 2-6 victory against Redwell Heating this week.
The first of the set was a high-scoring affair, ending 864-825 in Redwell’s favour, but Fina First responded with a 759-771 win in game two to draw level and keep the match tight.
The match was still wide open as game three commenced, and Fina’s superiority prevailed as they won it 759-815 to take the series by 29 pins (2,382-2,411). Brian Farrugia (Fina First), 647. Lorraine Casha (Redwell Heating), 596.
Sagio Investments recent good form eluded them in week four, as they went down 6-2 against Ramis, losing their joint lead of Div I with the defeat. The match started positively for Sagio who opened the scoring with a 706-755 win, but it was all square after game two, which fell 776-707 to Ramis.
Sagio’s game was in decline, and they seemed to lose the plot altogether in game three, which Ramis took easily with their 760 effort against a weak 666 from their opponents.

Royal Shock strolled to a 0-8 win against La Spigola this week, moving up to fourth place with the victory. La Spigola couldn’t get a foothold in the one-sided match as the games progressed 755-804, 737-777, and finally 766-795 to complete the white wash, and send La Spigola down to 11th place. Sammy’s Embroideries also bagged all eight in their week four encounter with bottom side Faces, putting them in fifth place.
The poor Faces outfit never managed to crack the 700 mark as they lost game one 673-728, game two 675-719 and then game three 652-728. With none of the Faces team managing to make a 500 series, even at this early stage of the new season, thoughts of a fast return to Div II must already be haunting them. HSBC move into a respectable sixth place thanks to their 2-6 win over Vintage, who are now seventh, albeit tied with HSBC on fourteen points. HSBC took an early lead with a 743-769 opener, but Vintage came back in game two, winning it 755-733 to make it 2-all, leaving a nominal four pin advantage for HSBC as game three commenced.
