The evening of last Wednesday was one to remember at the Gozo International Celebration (GIC) organised at Qala main square.

The combination of the local Qala band called Ite ad Joseph, along with the folk dancing of the Menhir folk group, was sensational. The evening was an example of just how beautiful Gozitan and Maltese culture can be if it is well presented.

I was just visiting Gozo for two days and the fireworks picked on my curiosity and I went to the village of Qala. It was interesting to know that, according to the announcers, the evening was attended by about 900 seated, a few score standing, that 52 countries were represented and a plane-load flew purposely to attend this event from the UK and Germany.

Keep up the good work and others should copy the example of the GIC or organise similar excellent events!
