Mozart Favourites at Ta’ Qali Greek amphitheatre

Musique, in collaboration with Creative Design and the Accademia Lirica del Mediterraneo (director: Pietro Ballo), will be presenting a concert featuring music by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart on 2 September at Ta’ Qali National Park’s Greek amphitheatre.

This audio/visual spectacle will be include excerpts from Mozart’s best-loved operas, such as Die Zauberflöte, Così Fan Tutte, Idomeneo, La Clemenza di Tito, Don Giovanni and Le Nozze di Figaro.

The programme will feature a combination of well-known and relatively new artistes. Maltese and foreign singers will be accompanied by the Amadeus Chamber Choir and the Amadeus Chamber Orchestra (leader: Sarah Spiteri).

Brian Cefai will be responsible for the musical direction of the event.

Soloists taking part include sopranos Anita Saliba, Lidia Ballo, Marita Bezzina, Michelle Cachia Castelletti and Stephanie Degiorgio Wismayer, mezzo soprano Claire Massa, tenors Charles Vella Zarb and Joseph Aquilina, baritones James Vella Bondin and Louis Cassar and basses Rosolino Galioto and Noel Galea. The soloists’ costumes will be provided by wardrobe mistress May Vassallo.
