I refer to Daphne Caruana Galizia’s article “A quick Getaway” (TMIS, 20 August).
I am afraid that I cannot agree with her apparent opinion that it would be better if alleged war criminals were killed off rather than captured to face trial.
She also decides to make comparisons between Saddam Hussein (or Hussein Saddam) and Adolf Hitler when there is not much to compare except for the fact that they were both ousted by Euro-American forces.
Indeed, with an opinion like that I am glad that she is not taking up bench space at Saddam's trial. I am more interested in objectivity where trials are concerned and would like to think that we've come a long way since the last great “trials”.
