The SmartCity project is of national importance and it should make us all proud that the government managed to attract such an investment, irrespective of our political colour.

The fact that 5,600 jobs will be created is a feather in the government’s cap, although it must now work hard to see that, where possible, the jobs are taken up by Maltese people.

I believe that the Malta Labour Party and the media that supports it is doing wrong in belittling the project as, after all, it will surely help the Maltese economy.

What is white should be called white. The opposition stands to gain more credibility if it expresses support for developments that are beneficial to Malta, rather than trying to find the proverbial needle in the haystack.
