Ivan Woods (Sliema W.)

There was some strong competition this weekend with Woods and team-mate Zvoboda, Barbara of Birkirkara, Monesterolo of Valletta, Cilia of Floriana and Frendo of Marsaxlokk showing impressive form.

But, in my opinion, Woods made it to the top of my list for the two brilliant goals he scored against Birkirkara. He received two perfect crosses from Nwoko (the first) and Zvoboda (the second) which he converted into goals with perfect headers into the corner of the net.

But it was not only his goals that contributed to Sliema earning a point. He played a blinder throughout the 90 minutes, working non-stop and creating opportunities for himself and also for some of his team-mates, constituting himself as a thorn in the Birkirkara defence.
