I wonder what made the new MTA chairman begin an investigation just because a draft letter of his was leaked to the public. Leakages are the order of the day in all public entities and will always remain so. That a new chairman comes into a failing entity and begins his tenancy by investigating his board members is unbelievable! He should be looking at what is happening around him and solving the huge problems that have been allowed to beset tourism by his predecessors and government.
To choose a lawyer to investigate these matters is beyond me! Whoever thought of Joe Zammit Maempel as an investigator? He has already made a hash of it and – in case the new chairman has not noticed – what his investigator said to the board has already leaked out. Why don’t you all stop wasting time and get on with the job?
Having said that, the whole farce does not give me much faith in these board members who, having been threatened and abused as reported in the media, did not stand up and resign immediately.
Evidently the whole board is made up of members of absolutely no mettle. No wonder the mess tourism is in!
