I am a stay-at-home mother of three, Daphne’s typical “barefoot” “brood mare”, a “strange maniac” so “perverse” and engrossed in “self-love” as to breastfeed, pardon me, “suckle” them, dear oh dear, past the age of two.
And to think I wasn’t even bullied into “dangling them off” my nipples by a “breastfeeding Fascist” or “Nazi” – I just weighed up the pros and cons with the brains I got as part of my genetic heritage. Like Daphne’s children, which we assume have grown “strong, intelligent, healthy and attractive” as a direct result of their “genetic heritage and general upbringing” (a big question for the reader since Daphne won’t write about them because “they will want to kill” her), at age two, my children were eating proper meals in restaurants , but, wait for it, they are not the children of “working mothers whose children are far better socialised than those of many stay-at-home mothers”, so, alas, they didn’t (and still don’t) answer back like hers!
We must assume that the “classic Ostermilk baby” switched to champagne and caviar on cutting her first tooth since teeth are “biology’s way of telling you that the kid needs to be weaned”. Strangely enough, mine still needed milk and “as long as it gets milk it doesn’t care whether it comes out of a nipple or out of a rubber teat. That fact might be damned hard to swallow, but swallowed it has to be!”
Daphne, you may have a point – the giant tit and baby billboard might be over the top but your approach is totally tactless and insensitive towards breastfeeding mothers who love their children no less, or more, than bottle-feeding mothers, working or stay-at-home, and to whomsoever helps them make an informed choice.
As the “quick-witted” woman you say some think you are, you should know better than to use titles like fascist or Nazi – maybe you’d like to ask your lawyer husband to clarify.
I’m attaching all my contact details so that in your quest to “undo some of the great psychological damage being wrought on vulnerable post-partum women by the breast bullies”, you might perhaps like to “help” by interrupting this “holy mother” and “Madonna” wannabe’s “pathetic and desperate” life with any question you may have.
