The English clubs had a good week in UEFA competitions with only one of the eight clubs taking part suffering a negative result. Unfortunately for West Ham United, their European dream came to an end in Palermo, where they lost again to the Sicilians and thus suffered elimination from the UEFA cup.

All eyes will turn back to the Barclays Premiership this weekend, with some tricky games on the cards. Liverpool travel to Bolton, while Chelsea, the leaders, take on Martin O’Neill’s in-form Aston Villa.

Today’s games include Newcastle taking on Manchester United at Old Trafford, as Tottenham Hotspur entertain Portsmouth at White Hart Lane in North London.
