I have been watching a few episodes of NET TV’s very interesting but extremely horrifying documentary Storja ta’ Poplu.

Even though I was always there in the midst of the battle, even though I have the satisfaction and the honour of always having stood up and been counted, I simply could not believe what I was seeing with my own eyes.

I shudder to even imagine that the same political party which, in government, was responsible for the difficult times we went through in the early 1980s, will be contesting the forthcoming election and that therefore there is always the frightening possibility that it will be in government again. What a tragedy that would be!

I think that the Nationalist Party should record this documentary on tape and on DVD and make sure that as many youngsters as possible see for themselves the kind of hell through which their parents had to go so that they could inherit the prosperous democracy they have found!
