An undisclosed sum of money was yesterday stolen in a hold-up in Zabbar, the police said. At around 6.45pm, two hooded and armed men went into a shop in Inhasa Street and held up the employees who were inside the shop at the time.

The thieves fled the scene on a motorbike which was later found abandoned by the police.

Magistrate Jacqueline Padovani was informed about the case and she appointed various experts to help in the inquiry.

The police are investigating.
