MLP Meets meat sellers

Malta Independent Saturday, 7 October 2006, 00:00 Last update: about 12 years ago

In spite of its great potential, the self-employed sector has lagged behind in recent years and it needs to be sustained within the regulations of the European Union, Malta Labour Party leader Alfred Sant said.

During a meeting with a delegation from the Meat Sellers Association, Dr Sant said that a substantial part of economic development depended on the work of the self-employed, and therefore this sector needed the government’s full support.

An MLP statement quoted the association representatives as saying that the government should understand their position more.
