Classical and baroque trios for flute, violin and bassoon by Mozart, Danzi, Vivaldi, Devienne and Vitali will feature in the next concert organised by St James Cavalier in aid of the Church of St Catherine of Italy restoration fund.
The performance by Robert Calleja (Flute) Roberta Attard (Violin) and Ulrike Buhlmann (Bassoon) will be held in St Catherine’s Church in Valletta on Sunday at 11am.

Robert is a regular performer of chamber music. He is a member of the National Youth orchestra and forms part of the Trio D’Argento, the resident chamber ensemble of the Malta Flute Society. He is also the choir director of The New Choral Singers. He was recently invited to perform in Portsmouth Cathedral in the UK and has also attended choir conducting master classes in Hereford.
Roberta Attard studied the violin with Prof. Joachim Atanassov and obtained the ALCM diploma and Dip ABRSM under the tuition of Mario Bisazza. She attended master classes with Carmine Lauri, Ofer Falk, Prof. Madeleine Mitchell and Prof. John Crawford. She has played in various concerts as a soloist, with chamber groups and with orchestras, both here in Malta and abroad. She represented Malta with the Mediterranean Youth Orchestra and is now a full-time violinist with the National Orchestra
German born Ulrike Buhlmann started bassoon lessons at the Potsdam School of Music. She furthered her studies at the Hochschule fuer Musik “Hanns Eisler” in Berlin with Prof. F. Finsch. She then specialised in orchestral performing under the guidance of Prof. K Thunemann for four years. She has performed with several orchestras in Germany, including RIAS Jugendorchester, Philharmonie der Nationen and Berliner Kammerphilharmonie.
