Students Cinema day on 4 November

KRS Film Distributors will be holding the fifth annual Students Cinema Day scheduled to be held during the mid-term school holiday, on Saturday 4 November.

On the day, six cinema complexes with a total of 39 screens will be offering students in Malta and Gozo a choice from no fewer than 17 films at a reduced admission price of Lm1.15 for persons under 16 years of age or Lm1.50 if 16 years old and over.

The list of films to be shown includes the newly-animated features: Sony’s Open Season, UIP’s Barnyard – The Original Party Animals and the currently released Warner’s Monster House. As the Students Cinema Day will coincide with the Halloween period, KRS will also be releasing three horror features titled Pulse (a remake of the Japanese classic), The Texas Chainsaw Massacre – The Beginning which is also a remake, and the sequel The Grudge 2.

Films that are expected to attract wide audiences on Students Cinema Day are the action thrillers The Guardian, starring Kevin Costner, and Martin Scorsese’s The Departed, starring Jack Nicholson, Leonardo Di Caprio and Matt Damon. Other films on offer which should be very popular are the dramas World Trade Centre and The Queen, and the comedies The Devil Wears Prada, Little Man, Click and You, Me and Dupree.

Presentation of a student’s pass will entitle the holder to a reduced admission price irrespective of his/her age to all shows starting at 9am until late night.

The two screens in Gozo will run shows from 5.45pm until late night.

Students Cinema Day will be celebrated at the following cinemas:- Eden Cinemas in St Julian’s, Eden Cinemas Galleria in Fgura, Empire Cinema in Bugibba, Embassy Cinemaworld in Valletta, the New Sun City Cine Palais in Marsascala and the Citadel Cinemas in Gozo.
