Besides Malta, the countries that will be represented in the draw are Japan, U.S.A, Finland, Germany, Indonesia, Hungary, Taiwan, Czech Republic, Latvia, Sweden and Slovakia. The Nations Cup is being played on the format of the Davis Cup that is two Men singles rubbers and one Doubles. The overall winner would be presented with the Tumas Fenech Trophy.

The organisors, ably led by Tournament referee Mr.Oswald Tanti, had a mammoth job to do on the first two days of the tournament due to the storm which hit Malta between Sunday and Monday. But due to the professional preparations made months before, 241 matches were played between Sunday afternoon and late yesterday. All matches were played at the Marsa Sports Club, Vittoriosa Lawn Tennis Club and Tennis Club Kordin.

Besides the Nations Cup, today’s programme will include more rounds of the Men and Ladies Open events and the age-group categories.

In all, 105 matches are programmed for today. Matches at the three clubs start at 8.30am.
