We write to congratulate the Malta Council for Culture and the Arts on the success of Saturday’s festival activities in Valletta.

Our busy itinerary began with Freddie Mizzi’s wonderful Big Band sounds, followed by lunch on the Waterfront and the superb Military Tattoo in St George’s Square.

The night was young and Notte Bianca beckoned. Music, cultural visits, guided tours, banquets and a rare opportunity to visit the Auberge de Castille – all enjoyed in the midst of the warmth and good nature we, as regular visitors, have grown to respect and appreciate.

The torrential rain and thunder which greeted us at 4am as we stopped off the Cirkewwa bus (available through the night), rounded off a truly memorable day.

Thank you Malta. Continue to take pride in your island’s rich resources – the friendliness of your people and your history.
