My insurance company has just informed me that my car insurance is due for renewal.

The notice reads something like this:

Gross: Lm82.80

Less: 60 per cent claim bonus: Lm49.68

PLUS duty: Lm6.50

You do not have to be a mathematician to work out that I have to pay Lm39.62. But you would be wrong because, according to the same renewal notice, the minimum premium is Lm51.50! The no claim bonus is a bad joke. They might just as well say that they are offering a 100 per cent no claim bonus to careful driver because the minimum remains the same!
