In cooperation with Badminton Europe (formerly, the European Badminton Union), the local Badminton Association has set up a scheme whereby local schools can obtain modern equipment at no cost for the training of their students.
The Antonio Bosio Boys’ Secondary School was the latest to benefit from this scheme. A number of rackets, nets and shuttlecocks were recently presented to this school where around fifty students play Badminton on a regular basis.
The students’ enthusiasm for the game is manifested by the fact that the school is currently planning to hold a second Badminton marathon in January 2007, following the first one successfully organised this year. This event, which will see the active participation of the students and their parents, will also serve to raise much-needed funds for a local charitable organisation.
