The Malta Labour Party wrote to the executive chairman of RTK yesterday to complain about the news reports carried the day after the Opposition Leader’s reply to the Budget speech.

In its letter, which was also sent to the Broadcasting Authority, the Labour Party said the report did not reflect the contents of Dr Alfred Sant’s two-hour speech and also contained a number of inaccuracies.

The MLP said that RTK had given more coverage to the press conference given by the Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi after Dr Sant’s speech than to the budget reply and the press conference given by the Labour leader the same evening.

In the light of these shortcomings, the Labour Party said it was filing an official complaint and called on the station to make amends.
