With reference to the last paragraph of Joseph Zammit’s letter entitled Learning Maltese (TMID, 25 October), we must make it clear that while we have two official languages, we have only one national language, which is Maltese.

His last paragraph might be interpreted as saying that the English language is also our national language, which is not so. This is for the sake of correctness.
