The international conference was opened by the chairman of the MBN Board, Mario Brognara, and the secretary general of BACEE, Istvan Lengyel.

The conference also coincided with the 10th anniversary of the two banking associations and was marked with the bringing together of two important markets in the financial services field, that of the Mediterranean and the Central Eastern European market. In fact, the conference was received so well by the participants that calls for a follow-up international conference in Malta was made to the organisers.
