The Maltese worker is capable to compete in the international market, no matter the size of our country. A good example of this is the success being made by the Maltese P1 team, Portomaso Chaudron. The owner of this company is Charlie Ciantar.

During his first day of the constituency week, Nationalist Member of the European Parliament, David Casa, visited the workshop managed by family Ciantar in Bulebel. This is the only place in Malta were Chaudron powerboats are being manufactured. These boats are now being exported to other European countries as they are being bought by other owners. During this meeting, Mr Casa also had the opportunity to meet with Chaudron drivers, Aaron and Audrien Ciantar.

This family is providing a good example of how a Maltese worker should work and give his utmost to achieve results in his manual work, with the objective to have one’s work appreciated outside the Maltese shores. Mr Casa was impressed with the potential of this family which is achieving results not just in the P1 competition but also by manufacturing its own boats in Malta by Maltese people.

Mr Casa had words of praise for the fact that the family is selling its own work to other P1 competitors. Currently the company is working on a new project – a powerboat for an Italian P1 competitor. The Italian owner will be one of the competitors during the forthcoming new season, which is scheduled to start next April.

During this meeting, Mr Casa congratulated Audrien Ciantar for being the first woman to participate in this sport. Moreover Audrien is part of the Chaudron technical team that manufactures powerboats.

Mr Casa promised the owner that he will be helping out the team to facilitate financial aid for Chaudron from the European Union. Additionally Mr Casa also said that one should address these small sectors where Maltese can make a big success.
