Rabat Ajax recovered from two successive defeats with a merited win over Balzan Youths as they scored their three goals during the second period.
Rabat Ajax dictated the run of play during the first-half and were twice close in the opening minutes through Emanuel Muscat and Adam Smeir.
Balzan broke the deadlock on the half-hour through Malcolm Tirchett with a strong shot from the edge of the penalty area and two minutes later Adam Smeir went close with a low shot which was well saved by Bonello.
Two minutes after the restart Rabat went close through Kayne Said but they managed to obtain the equaliser in the 52nd minute through Chris Muscat.
Rabat took the lead in the 74th minute as a fine move between Bezzina and Smeir permitted Kayne Said to beat Bonello with a low shot.
In the 81st minute Balzan’s player David Agius was booked for a second time and was sent off.
Rabat scored a third goal two minutes into injury-time through Adam Smeir who dribbled his way past various Balzan defenders before beating Bonello.

B’Bugia SP vs Melita 0-2
The Amateurs managed to win their clash against B’Bugia in a balanced encounter decided through two goals scored in the final 15 minutes. This was Melita’s second win of the season.
In the 11th minute Melita’s custodian Carter brought off a fine save off a Leslie Burke direct free-kick with the Melita custodian being again in action in the 17th minute as he blocked off a point blank shot by Aldrin Muscat.
At the other end Melita’s striker Matthew Borg I headed just wide from a Degabriele corner-kick and three minutes before the interval Fardell denied Matthew Borg II with a very difficult save.
Early on in the second-half B’Bugia created the better opportunities as they were twice close through Patrick Muscat and Jason Cassar.
However, in a swift counter-attack in the 77th minute a good move between Matthew Borg II and Kane Micallef was finished off by Matthew Borg I who beat Fardell from close-range.
After a Matthew Borg Iattempt hit the post, Melita put the result beyond any doubt with Kane Micallef finishing off from a Degabriele indirect free-kick.
