Four more first round matches are being played at the weekend, all at the Centenary Stadium, Ta’ Qali.

The programme starts today when Mqabba take on St George’s at 1.30pm. Mqabba are the first division leaders at present, while St George’s are occupying third from bottom place in the Premier League.

At 3.30pm, Floriana will be facing Mosta in a repeat of last year’s exciting final Relegation Pool match which ended in a 3-3 draw. Then Floriana came back from a first half 0-3 deficit to draw 3-3 and save their status, condemning their opponents to this season’s first division.

Tomorrow, Msida and Valletta should be considered firm favourites to qualify at the expense of first division clubs Naxxar and San Gwann respectively.

The latter two teams are occupying a lowly placing in their division while Msida are currently placed second and Valletta fourth in the Premier League.

The winners of these matches will join Marsa, St Patric, Tarxien and Pieta H. in the second round.
