From Dr M. Refalo
Your columnist Daphne Caruana Galizia, with her article on Fr Mercieca and his alleged misbehaviour in the United States (TMIS, 20 October), quoted the Holy Bible – “if anyone causes one of the little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him to have a large millstone hung around his neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea”.
This inspired me to go deeper into this question and I found that when Jesus was faced with the public prostitute who was brought to him for judgement, to be eventually pelted to death with stones (for her sins against the flesh), Jesus said that whoever of those in front of him was without sin, could throw the first stone! And one by one they went away.
And I thought that there are many around who are throwing stones at whoever they judge to have done bad things. And we think we are pure!
