The Gozo branch of the Liverpool Supporters Club recently organised a week’s visit to Liverpool.

Maltese and Gozitan members watched two home matches at Anfield against Newcastle and Tottenham which Liverpool won 2-0 and 3-0 respectively.

The members had the opportunity to visit the Anfield Museum beneath the famous Kop Stand. Also, the members could take photos with the Champions League trophy won in Istanbul in May 2005 against Milan, the FA Cup won against West Ham and the Charity Shield won at the start of this season against Chelsea.

A delegation from the committee consisting of Charlie Farrugia, PRO, Giovanni Sultana, Joseph Borg and Ivan Vella, had a positive meeting with coach Rafa Benitez at Melwood, the Liverpool FC training ground.

During the meeting, Borg and Sultana presented a trophy to Steven Gerrard who was voted as the club’s Player of the Year for the past season.
