An electricity fault occurred at 9.30am yesterday due to trenching work by a contractor, Enemalta Corporation said yesterday.

As a result there was a power failure in Tarxien, Paola, Fgura, Marsa, Floriana, Valletta, Kordin, Luqa, Siggiewi, Fawwara, Zebbug, Qormi and Lapsi.

The Corporation immediately took the action necessary to restore the supply by localising and addressing the fault and supply was restored to all the affected areas by 10.45am.
