The first week of November saw the start of the official 2006/2007 FIBA European club competitions all around the European continent.

Local international FIBA basketball referee Bernard Vassallo will be in action for the first time this season in the European sphere after he was nominated by FIBA to control the Euro Cup Group D match between Cras Taranto and the French side, Tarbes tomorrow, this incidentally being the first day of this European competition.

Vassallo will officiate this interesting encounter, to be played in the Pala Mazzola, together with Croat Alfred Jovovic whilst Italian Stefano Cazzaro will be the FIBA commissioner.

In the meantime, local FIBA commissioner Leonard Falzon will also be in Italy tomorrow as he will oversee the Euro Cup Women encounter between Trogylos Priolo and Lille (France) where the referees will be Fabrizio Pizio of Switzerland and Bosnian Bojan Jovanic.

Falzon was already in Italy last week when he was nominated as the FIBA Commissioner in Schio for the game between Famila Schio and Mondeville.
