Prolific Sliema Wanderers striker Ivan Woods has been presented with the BOV Player of the Month trophy for October 2006. The presentation was held at the Ursuline Creche in Sliema – the institution chosen by Woods to receive the monthly donation linked to the BOV Player of the Month competition.

Presenting the trophy to the player, Cliff Pace said “The BOV Player of the Month award is intended to encourage those playing in the BOV Premier League to give their best and to keep improving their football skills”.

While congratulating Ivan Woods for his excellent performance during October, Cliff Pace said that local charities are benefiting from donations on a monthly basis thanks to the BOV Player of the Month competition. “When we launched this competition, last year, we specifically wanted to link it to a worthy social cause. Indeed, sports and the social aspect make up two important pillars of BOV’s Community Programme, underlining the active role that the Bank seeks to play within the Maltese community,” concluded Mr Pace.
