Kerygma-Fuego 24-30
This first encounter of the season saw Kerygma starting very strongly against an unsettled Fuego who were taken by surprise when by the first seven minutes into the match they were trailing behind with six shots to nil.
However once Fuego found their footing and settled down they immediately recovered their deficit and still managed to end the first quarter one shot ahead.
In the second quarter Fuego resolved to increase their lead but Kerygma had other intentions and kept up with their opponent’s pace.
The third fraction was the one which determined Fuego’s success when they improved their shooting and upgraded their passes to extend their lead to twelve shots.
Although the difference in score was considerable, Kerygma persisted in their play and in the last five minutes managed to net five consecutive shots without any reply from Fuego.
This positive reaction by Kerygma came too late in the match as Fuego’s advantage was by now unassailable.

This match from the second division started at a balanced pace with both teams providing the same level of play and ending the first quarter at a draw of three shots each.

enjoying a three shot lead.

M’Scala-NA Wildcats 64-8
The last encounter of the day was from the second division between newly relegated Marasascala and debutants New Ages Wildcats.
As expected M’Scala were too strong for newcomers New Ages Wildcats and the difference in experience immediately showed as M’Scala dominated the match from the start opening a 20-shot lead by the end of the first quarter.
Although New Ages Wildcats’ young netballers tried their best to offer good opposition and to their merit fought till the end, they were in no position to match their opponents’ solid and confident play.
In fact M’Scala continuously extended their lead ending the encounter with an effortless win of 64-8.
