It has been another exciting year for Ira Losco. Having kicked off 2006 with a killer of an album, the young singer/ songwriter has headlined almost every festival and packed venues solid, earning her a Best Live Act award, among many others.

It was the number 1 selling album Accident Prone that continued to ensure Losco’s foothold on the local music market. With seven singles that hit top five spots in local radio charts, Accident Prone is tipped to be a favourite in this year’s Music Award ceremonies.

The Woman of the Year has decided to end the year in style, releasing an emotional acoustic album. This collection of songs, entitled Unmasked, features an intimate rendition of some of her best singles to date, unique arrangements of some 1980s classics and some keenly awaited original new material.

“Unmasked has been an experience where I let down my guard and really delved deep into my emotions. The lyrical content is extremely personal and the musical arrangement is stripped down to enhance the beauty of the instruments in their raw form.”

Ira Losco continues to work with the multi- talented producer/writer Howard Keith and credits much of her success to their collaboration.

“Howard is instrumental in guiding, inspiring and encouraging new approaches to my music. We share the same vision and are extremely happy with the result of this album.”

Apart from launching her new album, Ira Losco and band will give an enticing debut performance of their full unplugged live set with interesting contributions that include a cello player, rhythmic percussion and a pianist.

“I firmly believe that success is a result of hard work and the determination to continue working on new projects is a result of good chemistry, passion and working with such a great artist. This album is different from all the rest and I’m quite sure it will leave its mark, just like the previous ones did," says Howard Keith.

Ira Losco will be launching this unplugged album on Wednesday, 6 December at Axis. A limited number of tickets are available from Exotique Entertainment, D’Amato Record Shop, Guess and all Vodafone retail outlets at Lm3.95. Doors open at 8.30pm.
