I noted what Helen D’Amato had to say regarding the elderly. My wife and I are over 80 years.

Due to heart problems my wife did what her consultant advised. We had a telecare phone installed in 2005.

What they don’t tell one is the fact that as well as paying Lm5 rental charges, one has to pay Lm2 rental for telecare. I ask, for what service?

Last year we had no line for nine days yet the next bill included the rental and our bill was no less. I am still in dispute over this with Maltacom since 2005.

Also I made an effort to get the rental reduced. But she does not mention that this is means-tested. As I now have a mobile do I need telecare or Maltacom?
