Second Division side Birzebbuga St Peters have been fined Lm7,000 by the MFA Disciplinary Board after being found guilty that some of their fans hurled racial insults against an opposing team’s players.

The incident happened recently during a Youth match between the club and Sliema at the Centenary Stadium.

It is understood the MFA Disciplinary Board took into account the referee’s report on the incident and applied the minimum fine according to UEFA’s new regulations on the subject.
