Aloysians Veneziani Croissant 14

La Salle Vitality 18

Causing the first upset of the season, La Salle Vitality managed to take away the points in their encounter against defending champions Aloysians, for whom this was the first defeat of the year.

The match started well in favour of the Blues as they took a three-goal lead in the opening minutes, but it proved to be too big an obstacle as five minutes into the second they were on the wrong end of an 11-10 scoreline. On the other hand La Salle had a fine display, with an exceptional performance by goalkeeper Dorianne Tabone. Setting the rhythm of the match they were in control and took advantage of all the mistakes by their opponents to register an important win. La Salle now lead the standings 3 points ahead of Aloysians.

Kavallieri Foster Clarke 23

Aloysians ProMinent 23

There could not have probably been a more just result for this match as Aloysians were in control and ahead for most of the first half, and Kavallieri putting in a fine display, were in control for most of the second half.

It was a very slow paced match that was put on by these two squads, an approach which should have favoured more the Reds. The people present at the University Sports Complex were not too entertained with the stalemate as the show put on left much to be desired.

All in all, after this match Kavallieri and Aloysians share the spoils which therefore leaves both of them chasing leaders of the standings La Salle Nespak.
