In an Under 21 friendly international match played in Tunisia yesterday afternoon, Malta lost to the host country 2-1.
All the goals were scored in a generally balanced first half, with Matthew Bartolo netting the Malta goal.
In the second half Malta were still on a par with the Tunisians but they were unable to draw level despite some good efforts.
It is to be noted that this result was similar to the U-21 friendly played earlier this year at Ta' Qali national stadium on 28 May.
It was one match in a planned series to keep Mark Miller’s squad active.
