Malta’s Alex Borg was yesterday eliminated from the UK Championship after losing his first round match against Liang Wenbo 9-4.

By the end of the first session, Wenbo had already secured a sound 6-2 lead which he continued to enhance in the second and final session in the evening.

Wenbo now meets Jamie Burnett in the second round.

Meanwhile, Malta’s other professional Tony Drago will be in action tomorrow as he plays his second round match against Issara Kackaiwong.

The latter beat Paul S. Davison 9-5 in the first round match to set the tie with Drago.
