The current political situation in the country was analysed well in your leader The feel-good factor (TMID, 13 November).

It has always been the case that the Nationalist Party has lost elections because, although the country was performing well, generally speaking the effects of such well being were not being felt by the man in the street.

The Labour Party is intelligent enough to ride on this bandwagon, and takes with it on board the many people who today find it hard to make ends meet, even though both the husband and wife are working.

The cost of living is an important matter for all of us, and yet the PN in government pays little attention to it because of its policies of liberalisation. In my view, the PN should be careful about this, because unless it is seen as doing something about it, the way the price of important items keeps spiralling up will eventually lead to a Labour victory at the next election.
