The second race in the Road Running League organised by the MAAA will be held today at Tal-Maqluba, Qrendi.

Four races are scheduled: staring with the Cadets boys and girls at 2.00pm, Youths boys and girls, Intermediates and Junior and the last race for Senior and open categories Men and Women the 10Km starting at 3.30pm.

Seniors

The race will start on the Qrendi-Mqabba Bypass in the vicinity of the children’s playground which is approximately 300 metres away from St Matthew Church. On reaching St Matthew Church runners will proceed left up Triq San Mattew and then proceed uphill in the direction of Hagar Qim,where they will go past an old chapel. At Hagar Qim runners will turn left towards Wied iz-Zurrieq and then proceed towards Zurrieq via Blue Grotto avenue. On reaching Zurrieq runners will proceed towards the roundabout next to the SGS Factory. On reaching this roundabout runners wil turn left towards Mqabba and before Mqabba will again turn left onto the Mqabba – Qrendi Bypass. Runners will then head straight towards Maqluba .The finish will be next to St Matthew Church.

Intermediates and juniors

The race will start next to St Matthew Church. Runners will run down the Qrendi - Mqabba Bypass till they reach a turn round point sited at approximately 2.5km away from the start. Runners will then head back to St Matthew Church along the same route.

Youths

The race will start next to St Matthew Church. Runners will run down the Qrendi - Mqabba Bypass till they reach a turn round point sited at approximately 1.75km away from the start. Runners will then head back to St Matthew Church along the same route.

Cadets

The race will start next to St Matthew Church. Runners will run down the Qrendi - Mqabba Bypass till they reach a turn round point sited at approximately 1 km away from the start. Runners will then head back to St Matthew Church along the same route.

Bicycle ride for all

The Malta Cycling Federation, in collaboration with the ADT, is organising a bicycle ride on Sunday 26 November.

This friendly ride will start at 10am in front of the Bay Street complex which is celebrating its sixth year anniversary.

All bicycle enthusiasts are invited to join and enjoy the ride which will be assisted by the traffic police to make it safe for everyone.

The route will be around the Sliema-Pembroke area where, in the Pembroke Parade Grounds, the ADT will inaugurate a closed cycling circuit, which has been specifically set up for the use of the public.
