From Dr C. Mallia

Reference is made to the article by Adrian Grima entitled “Maltese literature and beyond” (TMIS, 12 November).

He mentioned various languages that have been and are still used to promote Maltese literature abroad. However, he failed to mention Esperanto, a language rich in both original and translated literature.

As an erudite littérateur, he surely knows that, besides my contributions to Maltese literature in Maltese, I also, through Esperanto, have contributed both originally and in translation to promote the knowledge of Maltese literature, and hence Maltese culture, abroad.

I don’t need to mention these contributions here. Those who are interested can see them at Malta public libraries or even on the Internet. And, given God’s beneficial and caring guidance, together with nature’s favours, other works are in the pipeline.

Is it so difficult to give everyone his due?
